Outgoing UK Prime Minister Liz Truss gave her final address at Downing Street in London on Tuesday, October 25, after being applauded from No 10 by staff.

Encouraging the nation to be “bold” and “confront the challenges we face”, Truss quoted the philosopher Seneca: “It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that things are difficult.”

Truss wished her successor, Rishi Sunak, “every success for the good of our country” and thanking her family, colleagues, and protection team.

“Our country continues to battle through a storm but I believe in Britain, I believe in British people, and I know that brighter days lie ahead,” Truss finished.
