There have been reports of violence in Ssembabule district ahead of the NRM party primaries slated for 4th September.
Some contestants with strong connections to the state have been accused of using government security agencies to intimidate and harass supporters of their competitors.
The races in Lwemiyaga and Mawogola north constituencies have attracted a lot of attention due to the high profiles of some of the candidates involved and also because whoever wins the NRM primaries is almost assured of taking their respective seat come 2021.
