Character building is a fascinating aspect of acting. When you approach your first scripts, the question pops up: how to play a character that's really different from yourself? Are there effective techniques or is it all a matter of "talent"? These few steps will help your character development and will show you how to get into character and how to play a character effectively. The character building technique for actors and actresses is a fascinating topic to everyone, because anyone can learn how to be a different person, how to behave differently in social environments, how to feel the character in acting as well a offstage.
These tips come from my background as a theatre acting teacher, but they're applicable to acting for screen as well as character building for role playing games as well as any circumstance in which you are required to "change your personality" and act in a different way than usual.
