Apple Carplay and Android Auto are fantastic features that come standard with a lot of new vans. If your new van has a colour touchscreen display then it will more than likely have this feature but you will need to double-check the specification of your vehicle as they do differ.
To set this up it is very straightforward:
1 – Locate your USB port and make sure you have a compatible wire for your device.
2 - Plug your wire into the USB port and your smartphone device.
3 - If you are connecting this device for the first time. You will need to unlock your smartphone device for this to work and sync.
4 - After you have connected your wire into the USB port and your smartphone device, the pair should then sync and Apple Carplay & Android Auto will be ready to use.
When this feature has been activated you can then access your smartphone device via the touchscreen display and use features like the calendar, music and phone book.
The best thing about this feature is that your Google maps will sync up to your van, so if your van doesn't come standard with satellite navigation then this is a great alternative.
For this feature to work, your phone must be plugged into the USB port. If it is not then this feature will not work. When driving please keep all concentration on the road and only use this feature when pulled over and stationary.
If you have followed these steps and your carplay is still not functioning, please contanct your nearest main dealer.
