On 29-March 2006, Environmental Alert Won the Energy Globe Energy Award 2005 (Earth Category) for the project “Integrated Nutrient Management in East African Farming Systems”, which employed “Simple farming methods which effectively help improve the Nutrition situation of Ugandan People in a Sustainable manner”. Mr. Fred Kafeero, who was the Environmental Alert Executive Director by then, received the award during the Energy Globe gala held in Vancouver, Canada on 29 March 2006.
