Can you use water from a dehumidifier for a fish tank?
Not at all. You should not use water from a dehumidifier in your tank. Dehumidifiers get rid of extra moisture in the air. The dehumidifying process causes the water from the dehumidifier into a tank. The water from a dehumidifier isn't pure enough to use in your fish tank. You can use a dehumidifier to help you make water that's free of chlorine from tap water.
It's a good idea to empty the dehumidifier tray after each use. This get rid of mold, fungus, mildew, rust, and other things that can be harmful to aquarium fish and other fish. Dehumidifier condensate also has chloride ions in it, which can hurt your fish if you use it in an aquarium. Dehumidifiers also build up dust and minerals on their coils over time. The water from a dehumidifier may have a lot of these minerals in it.
