"Because everyone is discussing the whole role that we have within Europe, I thought it was an appropriate time to look at the culture, the food, the clothing." I shot and edited this film in 1998 as part of a series for Channel 4. Tracy Bass directed it beautifully. 1998 was the UK Year of Photography and the Electronic Image. In the light of Brexit, I find that Martin Parr's pictures unify the countries in Europe. "It was my idea to sort of find the cliches and also give them a twist and make them surreal and slightly strange."
