The Elbe Cycle Route (Elberadweg) through Saxon Switzerland offers leisure cyclists the ideal combination of relaxed cycling and an experience of impressive nature. Apart from the Elbe, fans of altitude can marvel at the panoramic views offered by the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.

Beautiful Saxon Switzerland (Sächsische Schweiz) is located 30 km southeast of Dresden (close to the border with the Czech Republic) and 150 km from Prague.

If you’re flying in, the closest airports are Dresden, Leipzig and Prague. If you want to continue your journey by public transport you can catch a regional train to one of the main towns, Pirna, Königstein or Bad Schandau. But there is also a good bus network serving the area.


Btw, the Euro City Trains (EC) between Prague and Berlin are calling at Bad Schandau several times a day. So why not stop here for a day or two to enjoy a visit of Saxon Switzerland National Park?!
