A unique performance/installation narrating local stories originated during Covid lockdown.
Amina Khayyam Dance Company engaged local Birmingham women with creative activity reaching them through WhatsApp and zoom.
Using traditional Kantha – a south Asian form of embroidery, participants told their Covid experiences and stories.
In the final part of the project the Kanthas are kinetically progressed to Kathak to a music score of Borodin's Nocturne specially adapted to Indian instrumentation.
