Prof. Peter Simmonds is Professor of Virology at the University of Oxford. His recent research focuses on disease impacts, molecular epidemiology and transmission dynamics of RNA viruses and evolutionarily based studies of virus/host interactions at the level of innate cell defenses.

He spoke with us at the ESCMID Conference on Coronavirus Disease (ECCVID) which initially took place online from Wednesday 23rd to Friday 25th September 2020 and covered many aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
