Heidi Klum is returning to Project Runway after an eight-year hiatus. Klum originally hosted the series from 2004 to 2017, earning an Emmy Award in 2013. She and co-host Tim Gunn left the show after Season 16, having created a successful platform for designers. In a farewell statement, Klum expressed her pride in the show's impact and its role in shaping many designers' careers.
After their exit, Klum and Gunn launched Making the Cut, a similar design competition on Prime Video, which has aired three seasons. They cited a desire for changes to Project Runway, but the network kept the format unchanged.
Following their departure, Karlie Kloss became the new host, with Christian Siriano taking over as host and mentor for Seasons 19 and 20. Project Runway will return for Season 21 later this year with 10 episodes, though the judges and premiere date are yet to be revealed.
