How it Works:
Upon purchasing a set of plans (following the release), you will be provided with a download link to access a PDF format package of drawings. The ADU Concept Package is a preliminary set of drawings and renderings that provide a thorough illustration of the conceptual accessory dwelling unit design. These dimensioned plans and renderings can be used for space planning, design inspiration, and initial project budgeting. Please note that this is only a preliminary set as it lacks the necessary details, notes, and structural information needed for permitting and construction. Full-service plans are also available at an additional fee for customers building in California.
Wildfire-Resistant Features:
Also, in an effort to support local communities that are vulnerable to wildfires, The Modern Skillion design will incorporate the building features needed to certify the unit as a Wildfire Prepared Home! This is a program of the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety that aims to help homeowners take the most critical actions to protect their home.

Curious About the Name?
The term skillion refers to the type of roof designed atop this modern ADU. Also known as a shed roof or a mono-pitched roof, the skillion roof is famous for its simple, efficient form. It also provides the opportunity to install additional clerestory windows on the tall side of the vaulted structure for even more natural light!
