In 2022 Habanos, the company in charge of the marketing and sales of the 27 Cuban cigar brands decided to give Cohiba and Trinidad a luxury brand status and to realign the prices of all Cohiba and Trinidad cigars to the prices of Hong Kong. Most luxury brand owners like LVMH adopted this worldwide pricing strategy a long time ago. Now 5 years after the beginning of COVID, the parallel market is back.
