If you visit Puerto Vallarta, the locals will tell you that you must visit the Malecón Boardwalk. El Malecón is a pedestrian-only boardwalk along the shoreline and is about 11 blocks long. The name simply means "a road along the sea". The boardwalk is known for its amazing statues and is also lined with bars, restaurants, shops, street artists, vendors, and street entertainers at night. El Malecón can literally be an all-day event.
