Today I had a rare privilege to shoot some people's dream rifle, a unique fusion of contemporary and antiquated.
The story of this rifle:
This rifle originally began life during the Second World War at the J.P Sauer und Sohn factory in Suhl Deutschland.
Schultz & Larsrn and other companies converted many of these surplus Mausers post-war to 6,5x55 SE target rifles for the DDSG&I, short for De Danske Skytte-Gymnastik & Idrætsforeninger (The Danish Shooting and Gymnastics Sporting Associations). These rifles were shooting club property, used for marksmanship training and competitions. The original version of these rifles featured a peep sight similar to the Gevær m/50 Garand. Later versions, such as the one from this film, featured rear micrometer diopter and front floating target sights.
These rifles were later sold from their clubs into private hands, they had mostly fell out of Nordic competition usage when the Sig Sauer STR 200 was agreed upon as the common grovkalibret (large calibre) target rifle by Norwegian DFS, Danish DDSG&I, and Swedish SvSF sporting organizations in 1987. STR Stands for Scandanavian Target Rifle. For the particular rifle from the film, an original STR 200 stock was modified to fit the Mauser action. Considering that the STR 200 itself is now out of production, this configuration is quite unique.

The 4 Primary Rules of Firearm Safety:
Always Keep Firearm Pointed in a Safe direction.
Never point your gun at anything you do not intend to shoot.
