One day a man happened to see a vendor selling late at night. He came over to ask the lady to move, to go home. The woman refused, saying she needed to make money for her kids. The man gave her one more warning but she still refused to go home. So he pulled out a firecracker and lighted it. Soon, a group of people showed up. They wore dark jackets. They looked like the people you would never mess with. The lady once again, said that she couldn't leave.

Then, the leader told the woman that they want to buy everything. Turns out, the "mafia" gang is just a group of very nice people who goes around buying up all the food of vendors so they could go home early. It's just the title, they are not really from a mafia please don't hate me haha.

They started ordering and the lady was relieved. She also found the situation amusing. They started talking and found out that the woman is in her 50s and her husband had left her 14 years ago for someone else. She had to raise 4 kids all by herself. The oldest one is just 25 this year and the youngest one, 18. Still in school and in need of money to get through university.

Hearing this, the group was sympathetic. The leader told his friends to keep eating. They also learned that the woman comes out at 7 am rain or shine to sell her food. And she only goes home at 11 PM every day. Sometimes she has to stop and take a nap by the side of the road because she was so tired.

They were determined to make sure the woman goes home early today. The leader even tried to help her make food. He even invented a new flavor, with an orange slice as a filling and everyone thought it was delicious. Once all the food were sold, he paid on behalf of the group.

Finally, the woman got to go home early for once. Her kids were probably surprised when they see her return so early. This act of kindness and generosity would not be forgotten easily.

By the way, the cake she was selling is the famous Red Beans Cake street food popular in Taiwan. Although this was filmed in China. The lady selling it did have "Taiwan specialty" in the banner. It's a very delicious cake with different fillings that you can find in East Asian countries including Japan and Korea.

I really like the custard filling. That's my favorite flavor. Make sure to give it a try if you get a chance.
