Since Beijing overhauled the city’s electoral system earlier this year to ensure only “patriots” govern Hong Kong, some pro-establishment veterans have decided to switch to new constituencies. The polls have seen the rise of new elites – many of them Hongkongers who work in Chinese state-owned enterprises – shaking up the traditional pro-establishment camp. In the second of a three-part series, the Post speaks to New People's Party chairwoman Regina Ip, who is running in the Hong Kong Island West constituency, as well as Election Committee constituency candidates Simon Lee, who works for the state-owned China Resources Group, and Allan Zeman, chairman of the Lan Kwai Fong Group.
