“Our brothers are dying, and we can see it with our own eyes.”
On Thursday, Muslims of different nationalities performing the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca prayed and expressed their solidarity with the Palestinians amidst Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza.
“I hope the genocide ends”, an Indonesian pilgrim, Belinda Elham said in tears expressing her concern for the Palestinians in Gaza, while a Syrian pilgrim outlined what the Palestinians are going through as being under “a harsh, very cruel and merciless occupation.”
A Moroccan pilgrim described how meeting Palestinians in Hajj would “bring tears to her eyes.” They “left the war behind them”, another Moroccan pilgrim, Tammoun Arif, spoke of the struggle the Palestinians have had to go through to be able to perform Hajj and “pray for their people remaining in Gaza”.
