The Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad is currently in the process of restoring the historic Mark Twain Zephyr train set (and one train car of the Pioneer Zephyr). The Mark Twain Zephyr operated from 1935 to 1958 on various routes of the CB&Q, mainly in Iowa and Missouri...

After passing through seven owners over the course of 60 years (1960-2020) who did not have the time, means, or money to restore it... the Wisconsin Great Northern is finally undertaking and completing the task. Until its completion, we will provide weekly video updates (usually on Sunday afternoons) to show you the progress made in the past week on the MTZ.

On the Sunday, May 30, 2021 update, we get an update on the "Becky Thatcher" from Bob Heil. We also highlight some of the booths at our 2021 Mark Twain Zephyr Open House Weekend.
