Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath wrote a letter to Governor Lalji Tandon, saying a trust vote would be 'undemocratic' as Congress MLAs were held captive by the BJP. The chief minister also said it did not lie within the domain of the Governor to interfere with the functions of the Speaker. With uncertainty looming over the floor test, BJP MLAs started arrived to the assembly in buses. Former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan also arrived at the Assembly in Bhopal accompanied by other BJP MLAs. The strength of the 230-member House has come down to 222. The BJP has 107 members and the Congress 108. The Samajwadi Party has asked its lone member to vote for the Congress. There are four Independents and two BSP MLAs.
