12007 Chennai - Mysore shatabdi express was inaugurated on 11th may 1994, completed 25 years of service to the nation. initially it was pulled by diesel locomotives later it was hauled by electric locos from mas to sbc and from sbc to mys hauled by diesel loco. after 2017 Since the entire route is now completely electrified, the train is now hauled end to end by Royapuram or Lallaguda based WAP 7 locomotive which are equipped with Head on Generation technology.
