As someone who has spent decades of their life healing my Crohn's Disease through diet, I have strong opinions about which foods are good for a leaky gut.
We don't know when a baby's leaky gut becomes mature, as it is an individual thing, highly dependent on many environmental and developmental factors.
Many of the common first foods for babies, like rice and oat cereals, are some of the least healing options for the gut, particularly if those grains are improperly soaked and prepared.
With my babies I begin with bone broth for a month or so and then slowly add foods in the following order:
-cooked egg yolks
-meat cooked in broth
-fruits
-cooked veggies
And the very last items I introduce are grains, sometime after their first birthday.
