Did you know that COVID-19 can be better managed through monitoring wastewaters?
In this video, Dr. Mari Winkler, an AXA Research Fund Award recipient at the University of Washington, talks us through her research project on monitoring wastewater to enable the detection of COVID-19 in communities, and allow for a more targeted disease management.
At the onset of the global health crisis, AXA committed 5 million euros through the AXA Research Fund to support science in the efforts of better understanding the new coronavirus and combat against COVID-19 and its manifold effects on society. This special fund included 2.2 million euros awarded to 10 innovative research projects, exploring solutions to the impact of the crisis on our mental health and on vulnerable populations and alternative approaches to monitoring the global crisis.
