Holmlands are proud to present "Seeking Asgard: Ski Life Stories from Iceland", a documentary film and photography project that explores Icelandic ski culture from a human interest perspective; getting to know the personal stories of some of the countries most pioneering outdoor industry figures - all of whom have helped to push the boundaries of skiing in Iceland to new levels, through adventure, exploration and hard work.

Sigurður Jónsson, 57, is a Naval Architect and Sailboat Captain, originally from Ísafjörður in the North West of Iceland.

In the mid 2000's he purchased a boat from sailing legend Sir Robin Knox-Johnston - and began operating sailboat skiing trips from his home town in to the Hornstrandir Nature Reserve - quickly building a passionate community of likeminded ski enthusiasts from around the word who would join Siggi on his boat for winter adventures.

After selling is business in 2020, today Siggi lives on board 'Byr' with his wife Annukka and their two young daughters - welcoming guests and friends from over the years to join the family on new adventures in new locations - including the East Fjords of Iceland.

We sail with Siggi and a group of skiers from the USA from Reyðarfjörður to Mjóifjörður in search of the last remaining snow of winter, as Siggi shares his story and vision for a more sustainable future.
