Firefighters in Portugal say they're close to controlling massive forest fires that have killed 64 people. More than a thousand of them are battling the blaze in the Pedrogao Grande region.

Among the devastation, there are also stories of remarkable escapes. One woman says she jumped into a water tank with others to save her life. Kilmeny Duchardt reports.
