It was another epic trip to "the Spey Capitol" of Lower 48, Clearwater River, Idaho. It was said to be one of the best numbers of steelhead returns in recent years, so the expectations were high among all the anglers. But as some of you know, and now I do know, steelheading is not a simple math of probability! But also, steelheading is not always about cathing fish, is it? I met many great folks, some of them I'm happy to call as friends of mine.
During this trip, I explored Snake River little a bit and drove up to Grande Ronde (no fishing) too. Then Spey Clave hosted by the legendary Red Shed Fly Shop was perhaps the best little expo on the edge of the Clearwater! I was blessed to be a part of the event!
