A controversial women’s-only art exhibition is set to re-open in Australia, after a higher court overturned an anti-discrimination ruling. The Ladies Lounge at the Museum of Old and New Art was shut in May, after a lower court ruled in favour of a male patron who sued the gallery for gender discrimination. But the Tasmanian Supreme Court overturned the ruling, saying the law allows for discrimination if it promotes equal opportunity for a marginalised group. According to the museum, the Ladies Lounge seeks to highlight historic misogyny by banning male visitors from entering.
