Mountain View, a Tree City USA since 2001, enjoys tree canopy coverage of 17.7%. This includes City-managed trees in parks, along streets, and at City facilities. And yet, an even larger proportion of tree canopy cover (approximately 75%) comes from trees on private property, including single and multi-family homes, commercial properties, and industrial areas. Collectively, these trees provide millions of dollars in ecosystem services, as well as myriad community benefits. Developers, businesses, residents, and City staff alike have a crucial role in preserving the tree canopy cover today and growing it for future generations.
This webinar provides guidance distilled from the City of Mountain View’s new Tree Technical Manual on best practices for the maintenance and management of trees. Learn top takeaways from the Manual, which covers topics ranging from tree removal permits to recommendations for developers, construction managers, and residents. This webinar will leave you inspired and equipped with practical knowledge and resources to help ensure the health and longevity of Mountain View’s urban forest.
