Pietro Valenti, Managing Director at Pangea Fabrics and Consulting Pte Ltd

Pietro started his carrier in the 1980s taking care of the application of public bids for NATO and Italian military forces for the family-owned company Valman, Italy, a fully vertical company having three mills in Northern Italy.

He then progressively took up the guidance of Valman from 1992, bringing it from a turnover of approx. 12 million euro to 23 million euro in 2000, expanding export and developing the divisions of fabrics for the garment industry, automobile industry, and packing manufacturing made out of fabrics.

In 2004 he quit Valman to start up Pangea fabrics and Consulting, a unit dedicated to trading, Research and Development, and textile consulting. Pangea consulted companies in Turkey, Bangladesh, Pakistan, China, Taiwan, VietNam, Nigeria, and India as an internal process description, product development, and technical assistance. Pangea also supports marketing operations and Product Development of INVISTA.

In 2007, he started a Joint Venture in India focused on manufacturing fabrics for specialty bottom and outerwear. Pangea designed a complete weaving and processing plant with an overall capacity of 1.2 million meters per month. The company started commercial operations at the end of 2008 to reach approximately 30 million dollars in 2013. The Joint Venture was winded up in march 2014, the mill is now running under the full responsibility of the Indian partner.

Pangea is now capable to provide a team of specialists in all aspects of woven fabric manufacturing, marketing, plant design, job descriptions, team building up, product development, and sales.
