During the Second World War, many bombing campaigns were led, the most famous being the Battle of Britain which opposed the Royal Air Force's Spitfires and Hurricanes to the Luftwaffe's Messerschmitt fighter planes and Heinkel bombers above the English Channel. However, The Royal Air Force also led bombing missions against Germany with its Vickers Wellington and more successful and famous Avro Lancaster. This plane was bigger and faster thanks to the fact that it was a four-engine bomber. It is in this logic of escalation in the size that Vickers will embark on the design of a six-engine plane, but which will also be very special due to its design : a canard-shaped plane.And even more surprising, it was supposed to transport only one bomb of over 25 tons.
