This is the first video in a series of interviews with academics on novel ideas. In this case, the academic being interviewed is Prof. Lawrence Shapiro ([ Ссылка ]) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison ([ Ссылка ]) (USA). The interview was conducted in early January 2017 by Dr. Steven Stolz ([ Ссылка ]) from La Trobe University ([ Ссылка ]) (Melbourne Campus, Australia) whilst Professor Shapiro was a visiting scholar, and is meant to serve as a broad overview of the emerging research area of “Embodied Cognition”. The aim of the series is to intentionally instigate dialectical encounters that are both thought-provoking, and at the same time sustains the university as a place where conceptions of, and standards of rational justification are elaborated, put to work in the detailed practices of enquiry, and in turn accessible to the public to be rationally evaluated.
