United Nations - Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the 21st Century. In fact, Latin America and the Caribbean account for some 50% of all cancer deaths in the Americas. Now the International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA, is partnering with Argentina to provide technical assistance to expand the use of nuclear medicine to detect and treat cancer early to avoid unnecessary deaths.
