The Chimpanzees of Gombe, in Tanzania, have been studied for almost 40 years. Subscribe to Our World: [ Ссылка ]
This film tells the tense unfolding story of the chimps' social world, following the fortunes of several Chimpanzee personalities, including those of some very special residents, twin babies, Golden and Glitter with their mother Gremlin. If the twins survive to maturity, it will be a first at Gombe. Many of their antics are well known, but some have never been filmed. Chimps watch electric storms with a sense of wonder and awe. Scientists suggest this may be the beginnings of religion. They also perform unique displays, called rain dances in response to rainstorms and even crashing waterfalls. No one has recorded this behaviour before.
This film was first broadcast: 25 Mar 2003
