Ashwin Kumar, a QE Lead at Infosys, shares his incredible journey of resilience and determination after becoming legally blind due to a rare retinal dysfunction. Despite losing 95% of his vision, Ashwin leveraged technology, self-motivation, and his skills in graphic design and software accessibility to build a successful career. From a small-scale entrepreneur facing heavy debts to a top-rated freelancer, and now a mentor and advocate for digital accessibility, Ashwin's story is a testament to overcoming challenges and making an impact. He passionately advocates for creating an inclusive digital ecosystem, demonstrating that with the right mindset, even life’s toughest obstacles can be turned into opportunities. Ashwin is working as Quality Engineering Lead at Infosys Limited. He is an IAAP certified professional who Brings more than 2 decades of work experience as graphic Designer specialized in UI prototyping with an additional 7 years of expertise in evaluation and audit of websites, web applications, software applications, mobile apps and electronic documents for accessibility conformance. His current profile includes strategic planning and implementation of accessibility best practices in the software development and software testing life cycles.
