The late DA MP, James Selfe, started his political career in the Progressive Party as a researcher.

He would end up leaving deep footprints in the political landscape of the country - first after he joined the Democratic Party and then the DA.

He spent 27 years in the opposition benches of Parliament.

Selfe passed away on Tuesday night at the age of 68, following an extended illness.
