on my friend's Catalina 38 again! up that huge mast but this time without the #mastmate
to install a new radio antenna.

We used the old bracket so I didn't have to drill more holes.

Piggy-back method on the coaxial cable that was still there and still leading to the cabin. A bit of scraping away the old silicone there to make sure the hole was large enough to feed the bulging part. Marrying the wires together with wire first and then wrapping tightly with electrical tape makes it less possible that the wire will come apart halfway down the mast! The whole job went very well except for almost losing the antenna overboard!
The job took about 2 hours.

Now he has to hook it up all pretty like down below!
