The John S. McCain III National Center for Environmental Conflict Resolution (National Center), a program of the Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation, provides impartial collaboration, consensus-building, and conflict resolution services. Our work enhances multiparty problem solving and decision-making by helping parties work together, build a shared understanding of issues, address concerns, and develop strong outcomes.
This webinar from University of Arizona's Native Nation's Institute, in partnership with the National Center, provides an overview of the CARE principles of Indigenous data sovereignty (Collective Benefit, Authority to Control, Responsibility, and Ethics) and considerations for Tribes exploring issues of data sovereignty in environmental and natural resource discussions. The webinar was conducted in support of a National Center project involving Indigenous data and Tribal cultural landscapes with a Federal natural resource agency. However, the principles discussed in this webinar may be applied in other settings. Introductory details and specific comments relating to the project have been removed.
