Using an Automation Direct "CLICK" PLC to read and write data via Modbus (RS-485) network. In this case, we are sending speed commands to a variable-frequency motor drive (VFD) unit, while simultaneously receiving temperature data from a WirelessHART network gateway unit. The two units have different Modbus addresses, which allows them to coexist on the same Modbus network without interference.
