Welcome. This is Dudley Moore from Remote Places NZ. Today, we are heading into the Nevis Valley, accessed over NZ's highest public road. It is a great detour if you are going from Cromwell to Southland, but you need to be in a 4x4 vehicle. It is also very popular with bike tourists and ADV motorcycles. Usually closed in winter, and as it is beyond cell reception, make sure you are well-equipped for emergencies.
