This series of yoga videos for low back pain, created by the Canadian Chiropractic Guideline Initiative (CCGI) in 2017, is based on the most recent clinical practice guidelines for the management of low back pain. The videos are presented by Dr. David Whitty DC, a trained yoga instructor, and filmed by Mountain Man Media.
Dr. Whitty demonstrates and explains how yoga poses can be simplified depending on your flexibility, balance, ability and pain level, which may differ from day to day. The poses can be performed at home, however you would best benefit from practicing and progressing through these poses with a yoga class which would include a warm up and breathing exercises. Always listen to your body and do not continue a pose if it is painful. If you are unsure about a move or feel pain, ask your chiropractor or healthcare provider to review it with you and ask how you can modify it for you.
