Born in 1969, decked in stunning Fathom Green 2-stage and still churning an original 427, this first class Stingray is the kind of car that you simply buy, maintain and build equity in. If you're one of those cross-flag purists who likes to live the vintage car life to its fullest, here's the undiluted classic you've been dreaming of!
BODYWORK/TRIM
Of the many reasons to love the third generation of America's sports car, style is certainly high on the list. As one of the most aggressive designs to ever breach GM Tech Center doors, the C3 set the standard for the official Corvette shape. Take a close look at the body of this striking drop-top and you'll find aesthetics that are completely accurate to how the car left St. Louis' storied assembly lines. Thanks to a body-off restoration that wrapped in the Spring of 2015, that clean fuselage features even gaps which suggest a sharp eye toward precision. Correct metallic paint reflects a glossy finish under subdued Saddle vinyl and an array of polished brightwork. And, while many collectors think Rally Red is the quintessential Corvette pigment, we think you'll agree that nothing comes close to a well-done Fathom roadster!
ENGINE
Beneath the sculpted hood you'll find the car's original XÍ*3963512XÍ* branded L36 (LM) V8, which was assembled in Flint, Michigan (F) on October (10) 3rd, (03) 1969 and stamped with a matching partial VIN. Straight from the factory, this beefy big block utilized high performance internals to twist stout 10.25 to 1 compression into an even 390 horsepower! At the peak of the pavement-scorching mill, a polished and decaled air cleaner swirls wind into a familiar Winters intake by way of a reliable Quadrajet carburetor. At the sides of that intake, correct, cast iron heads hang stamped and polished valve covers over cast iron exhaust manifolds. At the back of those heads, a chrome-capped ignition system sequences spark through sleeved plug wires. And the block's ancillary components are top notch in every way, with GM-branded hoses, a rust-free master cylinder and a correct Harrison expansion tank accompanying reproduction tower clamps, a rebuilt alternator and a fresh aluminum radiator.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
That hot 427 twists torque through an original Muncie 4-speed, which hangs a Muncie (P) M21 (B) assembled on June (H) 19th, (19) 1969 (9) build stamp between a correct 3925660 casting number and matching partial VIN. Beneath that drivetrain, a fully rebuilt suspension combines optional power steering with tight turns and increased grip. At the corners of the car, 4-wheel power disc brakes ensure quick, drama-free stops. Aluminized down-pipes shuttle spent gases through new side pipes. And all that fully sorted hardware rolls on handsome Rally Wheels, which spin fresh 215/70R15 BF Goodrich Silvertown Radial redlines around dent-free trim rings and turbine center caps.
INTERIOR
Slip in to this Stingray's correct Saddle interior and settle on one of its firm vinyl buckets. A familiar dash hangs an array of black-trimmed telemetry above a correct Delco AM/FM radio. At the base of that dash, a tapered console frames a factory shifter. And in front of the driver, a fixed steering column spins a classy Rally Wheel.
As the value of third generation Corvettes continues to grow, well optioned, numbers-matching cars like this Fathom Green drop-top will continue to become serious investment pieces. Call, click or visit [ Ссылка ] for the chance to park this slick Stingray in your garage!
