Voters in Washington decided to reject three of the four statewide initiatives on Tuesday’s ballot except one, according to the Associated Press.
Initiative Measure 2066 is about promoting the right to choose your energy source, whether you are a business owner or an individual who prefers or uses natural gas at home.
The initial results from Tuesdays showed the initiative passing, and again when new numbers came out Wednesday afternoon, it was 51% Yes to 49%. No. That is a slim margin, not enough for those working to defeat this initiative to concede, but remain optimistic.
Earlier in the day, Climate Solutions responded to KOMO News' request for an interview, in an email, stating that late-breaking votes are likely to trend against what they call a “misleading, fossil fuel industry-backed initiative.”
