Moderated by OAFP Past President Mike Sevilla, MD, this session features Christen Johnson, MD, MPH, as she shares about her experience participating in the AAFP’s Health Equity Fellowship Program and the project that resulted.
Through her fellowship, Dr. Johnson took the work she had done in residency and amplified it to develop a curriculum that could reach a broader audience. The curriculum she developed during the yearlong process covers issues such as advocacy, social determinants of health, and cultural humility from a critical race theory lens.
Listen in to this valuable conversation. From her journey to family medicine, connecting with strong mentors, and all of the experiences that have led to a passion for health equity, advocacy, and teaching, Dr. Johnson covers it all!
