This video covers the history of the renewed Polish state between 1918 and 1939, the rapid industrialization, economic, and social progress they made, and then the blitzkrieg and Germany's invasion of Poland and two weeks later, the Russian invasion of Poland. Then follows World War II and the immense suffering inflicted upon the Polish nation by two powers. I describe the unending courage of the Poles, the sacrifices they made, the enormous and unknown part they played in the war effort, and, in the end, the betrayal by the Western Allies. This is the sixth video in my crash course in Polish history series.
In addition, this video contains a bonus: pieces of background music that often pertain to the era and event being discussed.
