In the latest on migrants in the Mediterranean. Nearly 2-thousand people have been rescued over the past few days. Around 1,300 migrants have arrived in Sicily, while another 500 have been rescued from flimsy boats off the coast of Libya. Italy's coast guard says the migrants have landed at three different ports in Sicily. The Italian government has confirmed that migrant arrivals are up more than 57 percent compared to the same period last year. Some of the refugees have told stories of violence in Libya, with some claiming they were beaten and stoned before boarding smugglers' ships.
