In this video, I cover the five areas that repressed Se (the inferior function in INFJs and INTJs) can show up: fear of failure, anger issues, lack of real life experiences, repressed sexuality & delusions about other people. *These areas are meant to be a guidelines & may not apply to all INFJs as we are in different stages in our own journey.*
With Se integration for INF/TJs, the goal is not to pretend to be ESTPs or ESFPs by dressing, acting or talking like them (as it can only be superficial resemblance that doesn't solve actual problems) but to really improve the use of the function in practical areas of our lives.
I talk about how weak Se can paralyze us in our career and creative projects as it can make us give up easily in the face of failure. Real success requires consistent action in spite of failure, something ESTPs and ESFPs who lead with Se understand effortlessly. I also emphasize the importance of reducing anger issues by not bottling up our emotions and being upfront early on so as to prevent an outburst of rage. When it comes to the lack of real life experiences, it is imperative for INFJs and INTJs to seek out communities of like-minded people by participating in their hobbies (even as an introvert, as no man is an island & we all need to connect with others).
Repressed sexuality is a bit tricky as it can cause SOME inferior Se users to swing like a pendulum from asexual to sudden outburst of sexuality. It is important to express your desires in a way that's socially acceptable and considerate to the people in your lives. Finally, for managing delusions due to excessive Ni daydreaming, we need to observe the objective reality and be aware of the difference between our imagined world and the real one.
