Today I have what had the potential to be a true redemption story, however, just like always Hasbro ultimately fumbled the perfect throw. I present to you the Buzzworthy Bumblebee Deluxe Class G2 Cybertronian Trooper from the Troop Builder 4-pack.

This figure is a recolor slight remold of Transformers Legacy Deluxe Class Skullgrin. Now, I'll go on record and say that the Legacy Deluxe Class Skullgrin is one of the biggest letdowns in the Legacy trilogy so far as of typing this (November 5th, 2023). The figure had numerous flaws including having several parts including accessories be made of very pliable rubber/plastic.

When I got the G2 Cybertronian Trooper out of the box and converted into its primary mode, I was hoping that Hasbro would have noticed the flaws and fix their previous mistakes with Skullgrin.

So, I got this figure converted and I did my initial observation of the G2 Cybertronian Trooper in its primary form and to be honest, I was very impressed with the results, the various mistakes that Skullgrin had with a rubber head/horns/spikes was actually replaced with either firmer rubber or an outright plastic head. I was thinking that we were on the verge of seeing a redemption story with the G2 Cybertronian Trooper figure.

Then came the time when I unboxed the accessories, more specifically the problematic swords that the figure has. The swords, are exactly the same weapons that Skullgrin had, not only are they the same weapons, but they are also composed of the same flimsy rubber. That's right, Hasbro did not totally learn from the various flaws that Skullgrin had. I was hoping that this figure was going to have that redemption story but sadly, it will never happen.

Overall, this figure (minus swords) is a significant upgrade from the Skullgrin mold but you can't just judge the figure by specifics, you have to look at everything that is offered with the figure (good and bad). Who knows, if they reuse this mold for a third time maybe it'll be the charm.
