Do short shifters REALLY make a difference? Today, we install and review the Mazdatrix 6 speed short throw shifter in the 2004 Mazda RX-8 drift build to try and eliminate the sloppiness + gear grinding issues.

Since owning the car, we've had major gear grinding issues going into 3rd gear and 5th gear especially! We switched out the transmission gear oil (video here: [ Ссылка ]). That didn't quite fix it though... we are worried about this being a synchro issue, not just a sloppy shifter causing the grinding problem. A sloppy shifter CAN cause shifting problems, but is that our problem, or something else?

This shifter is $350, so we are hoping for the best on the install, shifting feel, and performance of throw distance. Check out the video and let us know what you think below.
