Taking my new Jeep Rubicon on it's beach drive maiden voyage at Emerald Isle, NC. A permit is required to drive on the beach and for non-residents it's a steep $175. If I wasn't staying at a beach front rental home this season I would have gotten more use out of the permit and would have driven down to the less crowded point to spend the day tailgating, etc.
