No vídeo, é abordada uma das piores secas recentes que afetam o Amazonas, resultado de fatores como o fenômeno El Niño e a degradação ambiental. A situação levou 42 cidades a declarar estado de emergência devido à seca histórica, afetando cerca de 273 mil pessoas. Essa vazante tem causado deslizamentos de terra, mortes de animais e a redução drástica dos rios.
Dos 62 municípios do Amazonas, 35 estão em alerta, dois em situação de atenção e dois em normalidade. O governador também decretou estado de emergência em 55 municípios afetados pela seca. Para lidar com a situação, a Secretaria de Educação reiniciou o programa "Merenda em Casa", beneficiando 2,2 mil estudantes da rede estadual em áreas rurais que não conseguem acessar as escolas.
As comunidades rurais afetadas estão localizadas em várias cidades, incluindo Alvarães, Amaturá, Benjamin Constant, Careiro da Várzea, Envira, Itacoatiara, Manacapuru, Manaquiri, Novo Aripuanã, Parintins, Tefé e Tonantins. A Secretaria de Educação planeja concluir a entrega de kits alimentares do programa nas próximas duas semanas, abrangendo várias dessas comunidades.
